Foreign workforce in Romania: 72.4% of the annual quota already utilized
According to the latest data released by the General Inspectorate for Immigration (IGI), during the first nine months of 2025, immigration authorities in Romania issued 84,826 work permits for foreign nationals.
The majority of these were for permanent workers (84,125), followed by:
- 262 posted workers
- 214 highly qualified employees
- 177 seasonal workers
- 43 intra-company transfers
- 4 au pairs
- 1 trainee
This represents 72.4% of Romania’s annual foreign employment quota already in use.
